Reporting to the Sr. Gift Planning Program Manager in this remote position, the Gift Planning Account Manager will support Children International’s overall gift planning strategy focused on growing deferred gift expectancies of $5-10 million in deferred revenue annually. In partnership with the Sr. Gift Planning Program Manager, they will be responsible for working effectively and collaboratively across the organization to identify gift planning opportunities for current supporters. As a member of the Global Philanthropy team, the Gift Planning Account Manager supports donor engagement efforts across the organization to enhance revenue streams.

Responsibilities

• Execute methodical outreach through various engagement tactics in response to donor inquiries regarding gift planning
• Focus efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and close gift planning opportunities for both deferred expectancies (‘legacy gifts’) and current gifts
• Establish and strengthen relationships with supporters who have potential to make planned gifts and curate appropriate participation by other department staff, primarily major gift representatives regarding gift planning prospects ready for face-to-face visits
• Maintain a portfolio of legacy gift donors by designing and implementing individualized strategies for the cultivation and stewardship of legacy gifts with primary account representative as appropriate
• Build strong collaborative relationships with other supporter facing staff to coordinate efforts when responding to gift planning related contacts
• Provide sample bequest language, basic and complex gift calculations, and prepare gift agreements as needed to actively solicit gifts
• Serve as technical expert across the organization regarding tax consequences of charitable gifts, in partnership with the Sr. Gift Planning Program Manager
• Support the development of an individual giving society and the ongoing management of the donor communications and program initiatives
• Secure support through wills, bequests, trusts, beneficiary designations, charitable gift annuities, donor advised funds, individual retirement accounts, and other giving vehicles
• Provide support on special projects for the Fundraising Services Team and perform additional duties as assigned

• BS/BA degree or equivalent of 4 years’ experience required
• Minimum of 2-5 years of related experience, introductory to intermediate Gift Planning training preferred
• Proven track record of self-driven performance in pursuit of assigned metrics
• Results oriented with intrinsic motivation and excellent organizational skills
• An aptitude to focus one’s efforts for effective time management
• Appropriately persistent
