The Support Specialist shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.
This position will serve in a professional fundraising environment with emphasis on Gift Planning ministry partner qualification and cultivation and other administrative tasks. The Gift Planning & Operations Support Specialist will strive to enhance highly valuable Gift Planning and Foundations ministry partner relationships and constituents of Navigator ministry, thereby actively advancing growth for the Gift Planning and foundations program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ministry Partner Relationships and Estate Settlement - 30%
Assists with the communication and stewardship plan for the Trotman Fellowship to enhance ministry partner relationships (using personal cards, newsletters, and fulfillment materials).
Responds to all incoming calls on the Gift Planning phone line and organizational e-mail box and provides direction to Gift Planning ministry partners utilizing the Navigators My Legacy website and basic planning information.
Executes GP team’s processes upon notification of ministry partner’s estates being settled; collaborates with estates’ personal reps, executors, attorneys, and trust officers, as applicable, to ensure timely closure; tracks and reports progress of estate settlements.
Administrative Responsibilities- 50%
Manages the Gift Planning & Foundations electronic databases and hard-copy file systems.
Works in Salesforce to ensure allocations/designations for Gift Planning gifts are correct and accompanying documentation is included.
Assist with foundations and grants processes and project management.
Budgeting and Marketing - 30%
Assists with team financial affairs and basic legacy gift settlement in cooperation with the Gift Planning Team, including filing expense reports and paying supplier invoices.
Assists with the implementation of the Gift Planning marketing and communication program in coordination with current Development marketing channels: direct mail, digital (websites, social media, and e-mail), donor visits, and telephone.
Additional Responsibilities
Pursue continuing education regarding Gift Planning strategies, ethics, organizational practices, industry tools and resources through coaching/mentoring, conferences, webinars, and other resources.
Participate in Navigators’ on-site learning and development events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings, or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.
Participate in annual processes, such as the organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR), Engagement Survey, Reaffirmation of the Navigators Code of Conduct, Calling-Core Values-Vision, Statement of Faith, Driver’s Authorization, and other releases as required.
Submit time worked by direct reports on a weekly basis through the Workday time tracking system.
Submit and approve expense reports, due the 15th of each month (if applicable).
Other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual: Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators. Knowledge of Navigator missions, ministries, and networks preferred.
Experience: At least three years of experience in a related field preferred. Knowledge of gifting options (e.g., Living Trusts, QCDs from IRAs, Life Insurance, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Gift Annuities, Donor Advised Funds, and Charitable Endowments helpful but not required.
Technical Knowledge & Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency. Proficiency in database and web-based fundraising tools. Salesforce proficiency a plus. Strong organizational skills.
Communication & Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including verbal & written, to create understanding and build strong relationships required. Excellent closing skills. Developed leadership skills in managing and serving a team.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or combination of education/experience required.
